There’s something powerful about asking the world to slow down. To see you, hear you, and hold you gently. That’s the heart of my new single, “Take It Easy.”
Written from a place of emotional honesty, Take It Easy is both a confession and a boundary. The repeated chorus — “Take it easy on me, I bruise easily” — echoes the unspoken feelings so many of us carry behind smiles and strong fronts. It’s an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, or worn out but kept going anyway.
The verses blend English and Yoruba, anchoring the song in my roots while reflecting the universality of the message. Lyrics like “Me I don’t have time for anybody drama… I’m human, I’m not holy” remind us of our shared vulnerability and humanity.
I recorded this track in my home studio in Manchester, where the creative process was deeply personal. Alone with my thoughts and melodies, I found the space to be raw, reflective, and free. But as always, it’s on stage — with the lights low and the crowd listening — where the song truly comes alive. Live performance gives Take It Easy its full soul.
This is more than a song. It’s a reminder to be kind — to yourself and to others.
